Fuse mount bracket install instructions - three phase

The purpose of the mounting bracket is so that the sensor is positioned in your meter board for an optimal sensing technique across all fuses. In this article you will find:

Before you start think safety first

  • DO NOT attempt to remove your main supply fuse for any reason, only your electricity company is permitted to remove it
  • If you have any concerns about safety seek advice from a registered electrician or contact Powersensor support
  • If your setup does not look safe or has damaged, cracked or exposed wiring DO NOT touch it

Bracket installation steps

 

  1. Check that you have all of the fuse mount bracket components and familiarise yourself with the parts
  • 1 x mounting arm
  • 1 x slider
  • 4 x adhesive strips
NOTE: This step can be tricky, the bracket is 3D printed and there is some variation in the dimensions.   It may take a few attempts for the sensor to clip into position
  1. Prepare the sensor and slider assembly.  
    • Take your charged sensor and remove the silicone strap.  
    • Insert the sensor notch into the slider as shown in the image to the right, with adequate pressure the notch will clip into the slider.

  1. Identify the main supply fuses in your meter box. If you are uncertain and need help please contact Powersensor support.  
  2. Find the best location to position the bracket mounting arm.  The aim is to position the sensor so that it is suspended in front of the group of fuses and is centred across all fuses.
    • Insert the assembled sensor and slider into the mounting arm and position the arm so that the sensor is positioned against the front face of the main supply fuses
    • Take note of the mounting arm position up against the backboard of your meter box, this is where the reclosable fasteners will be positioned.  Using a dry paper towel wipe down the backboard.

  1. Attaching the mounting arm to the backboard of your meter box next to the main supply fuses
    • Take two adhesive strips and attached them to the mounting arm, one at the top and one at the bottom
    • Attach the remaining two adhesive strips onto the back board so that they align with those on the mounting arm
    • Press the bracket mounting arm against the backboard so that the adhesive strips meet and engage
  2. Push the sensor into the arm by sliding into the mounting arm so that the sensor is mounted flush against the front face of the fuse
