What is the learning process?

The learning process is a critical component of what makes Powersensor so powerful. In this article we cover:

About the learning process

Powersensor uses a new patented technique to monitor your home's energy consumption and solar generation. In order to work these things out, the Powersensor devices need to be calibrated first. Calibration is achieved through a learning process where raw Powersensor data is converted to power and energy using a patented algorithm developed by DiUS. 

Please note that any movement in your sensors will disrupt the learning process so don't move your sensors!  

Powersensor learning process

The learning process can be broken down into a few stages:

Initial learning

Immediately after you have installed your Powersensor Solution, the devices go through the initial learning process which runs for approximately 48 hours. During this time, it's important to use the appliance attached to your plug as much as you can (or at least once per day). This will provide you with data as soon as possible, but there may be some discrepancies in your data at first. 

Continuous learning

After the initial learning process is finished, your Powersensor devices will improve progressively as they continue to learn and the data they report to you will become more precise over time. Please keep in mind that there may be some discrepancies in your data during the first week of use! After about one week, the learning process will reach its highest level of performance.  

It is necessary to use the appliance on your plug at least once a week so that the data on your app stays precise. Remember that if you move your sensors the learning process will need to start again!

• Moving the sensors will disrupt the learning process 
• Continue to use the appliance attached to your plug as much as possible
