The position of your sensors is critical for accurate readings. Interference from other wiring or components can reduce accuracy.
These spots typically give the strongest signal for the house sensor.
- Installation next to the service fuse: (Please do not fasten the sensor to the fuse enclosure using any adhesives or ties because the fuse enclosure can become damaged when the sensor is removed again, exposing the live fuse)
- Installation next to meter: Try to position the sensors either underneath the meter toward the left side, or on the left hand side of the meter, towards the bottom.
Please also review our examples of poor installations, if your installation looks like one of these you may want to consider repositioning your sensor.
These spots typically give the strongest signal for the solar sensor.
- Install your solar sensor on the AC conduit of your inverter, but if possible, try to position it further down on the loop, away from the inverter chassis itself. In some cases the internal electronics of the inverter switching on and off can interfere with the sensor.
Please also review our examples of sub-optimal solar sensor installations, if your installation looks like one of these you may want to consider moving your sensor further down the AC conduit if possible.

- In this example the sensor has been installed on top of the meter. This is too far away from the meters feed-in terminals.
|
- In this example the sensor has been installed on the wall of the meter box enclosure, too far away from the fuses or meter. - This is also a multiphase site, which requires our multiphase solution to monitor correctly. |
|
- installations near the switchboard encounter too much signal interference. |
- This is a 3-phase site, which requires our multiphase solution to monitor correctly. |
Examples of good solar sensor installations
We recommend moving the sensor further along the AC conduit, away from the inverters internal electronics, either on the AC conduit or near the isolator switch it okay.
Examples of sub-optimal solar sensor installations
When the solar sensor is placed directly against the inverter, the inverter’s internal electronics can interfere with the signal. We recommend moving the sensor further along the AC conduit.
